The King Opera House will be “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” when students from Community School of the Arts present their “Holly Jolly” production of Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer JR. Pull up an ice block and lend an ear to a timeless tale of holiday cheer when CSA’s Children’s Theatre Company presents Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer JR. on December 9 at 7pm and December 10 at 2pm and 7pm at the King Opera House in Van Buren. Tickets are $18 for adults, $15 for children, or $12 group rate(10 or more tickets). For more information: call (479) 434-2020 or visit us online at csafortsmith.org/stars-on-stage.Based on the classic cartoon, the musical tells the story of Rudolph, a young reindeer born with a very shiny nose (some might even say it glows). Thinking only “normal” reindeer have a chance to make the elite team pulling Santa’s sleigh, Rudolph’s parents encourage their young buck to conceal his blinking beacon. Along the way, he meets fellow misfits and realizes that being different isn’t so bad after all!Quote from Dylan Blackwood, Director: Since his first flight in 1939, Rudolph has shown children and adults alike the power of embracing our differences. In today’s world, with growing pressures of social media influence, we are constantly under the microscope of a judgmental eye. What this classic story shows us is that our differences do not set us apart. Our differences are what make us special! These 25 talented young actors bring this story to life with Christmas cheer and a little theatre magic. This will be a night that you won’t forget!Quote from Dr. Russell, Executive Director: Our Children’s Theatre Company is extraordinary! I am so proud of the kids and our outstanding instructors who work hard to bring out the best in each student. This is one show you are going to want to see!Students by City, State:Fort Smith: Porter Black, Eva Bragger, Cera Christly, Bailey Cossey, Lulu Gilbert, Riley Harper, Landry Holmes, Maribette Holmes, Nora Linn, Brody Pate, RyLeigh Sharp, Emma Short, Upton Siddons, Alicen Treadaway, Jaycee WilsonVan Buren: Madelyn Buchanan, Sabra Stout, Lydia Tucker, Alli WilburnLavaca: Mercy Cunningham, Kalan DunnAlma: Amelia NelsonCedarville: January BaileyGreenwood: Jude Harry
