Cross Catholic Outreach is working to provide safe, clean water sources in poor, rural communities in Africa by drilling wells and installing pumps and enclosures that will protect the quality of water. We take clean drinking water and access to water for agricultural purposes for granted. Many families in remote, rural communities face crushing hardships daily. Many poor women and children spend hours trekking miles daily to find a stream or well, only to get sick from waterborne illnesses. Water impacts a family’s health, efficiency, education and economic progress. This project will help to deliver safe water to these poor communities for drinking, bathing, cleaning and agriculture, where it’s needed the most. With water worries out of the way, illness declines, school attendance rises and families have more time and resources for other important tasks.
