Fort Smith Regional Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Sept. 3.
Comprehensive Juvenile Services, Inc., is pleased to announce the agency has recently been accredited with the Council On Accreditation (COA) after many months of intensive work. In addition, Comprehensive Juvenile Services was expedited through the Pre-Commission Review Report process as a result of not receiving any out of compliance ratings in any of the fundamental practice standards.
Accreditation through the Council On Accreditation covers an entire organization and is a prestigious honor. COA looks at both an organization's programs and services and the administrative infrastructure, as both are critical to producing the best possible outcomes. Making accreditation a whole-organization process helps to ensure that everyone--from human resources to finance to direct care service staff--is working together to carry out the mission of the agency.
Comprehensive Juvenile Services, Inc. (CJS) is a private, non-profit, community based youth service agency providing services to youth and families in a six-county area of Western Arkansas. Since opening its doors in 1977, CJS has been quietly working to give youth and families tools to assist teenagers in successfully transitioning to adulthood and the hope of a bright future.
