City of Van Buren issued the following announcement on Sept. 2.
This year when Van Buren faces Alma in the Battle of the Bone, there will be another rivalry. This rivalry is not between players, but between the “Top Dogs” from both police departments. Chief Jamie Hammond with Van Buren Police Department vs Chief Pointer with Alma Police Department. Whichever team loses, that Chief will buy donuts for the entire winning team! Come out and cheer on the Pointers at the Battle of the Bone this Friday!!!
