Cost of college went up for all students at Arkansas Tech University

In-state tuition and fees rose 2.1 percent for 2018-19 at Arkansas Tech University, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Arkansas residents paid $7,254 to attend the four-year public institution this year – $150 more than the $7,104 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid 74.8 percent more than residents this year, or $12,678. Their price tag grew 1.2 percent from $12,528 in 2017-18.

About 93 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Arkansas residents. About 5 percent are residents of other states and 2 percent are citizens of other countries.

Data shows 95 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 1,611 students received grants or scholarships totaling $10.9 million and 1,004 students took out student loans totaling more than $6.9 million.

Including all undergraduates (12,101), 7,565 students used grants or scholarships totaling $51.1 million, and 4,438 students took out $31 million in federal student loans.
