Congressman Steve Womack, who represents Arkansas’s Third Congressional District, announced he will miss his first vote in the U.S. House of Representatives due to a family medical emergency. In a statement released on November 17, 2025, Womack said, “After almost fifteen years with a perfect voting record, I am sad to report that my streak will end today. I am dealing with a family member’s serious medical issue that requires my presence at home. I’ve known all along that one day, this voting streak will end and that day has come. I am eternally grateful for your prayers and support during this difficult time.”

Womack has served in Congress since 2011 after succeeding John Boozman as the representative for Arkansas’ 3rd district (https://womack.house.gov/). He is also a member of the House Appropriations Committee.

Born in Russellville, Arkansas in 1957, Womack is now 66 years old and resides in Rogers. He graduated from Arkansas Tech University in 1979 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
