Rep. Steve Womack, U.S. Congressman representing Arkansas’s 3rd district since 2011, shared updates on social media over several days in September 2025 about local events, legislative actions, and the passing of a community leader.
On September 11, 2025, Womack commemorated the loss of a prominent figure in Arkansas’s trucking industry. He wrote: “Last month, Madison County, the state of Arkansas, and the nation’s trucking industry lost a remarkable, self-made businessman when Lew Thompson of Huntsville died unexpectedly at his home. And I lost a dear friend. To honor his life and legacy, I took to the House floor. Rest in https://t.co/pFB2igxHGJ”
The following day, on September 12, Womack addressed border security and immigration enforcement efforts: “Yesterday, I voted to increase penalties for illegal aliens who repeatedly re-enter the U.S. after being removed. This commonsense legislation strengthens our borders and sends a clear message to the world: the U.S. is serious about enforcing our immigration laws. https://t.co/3F83WvdTEK”
On September 13, Womack described his participation in a local celebration: “Started out my Saturday right with a pancake breakfast, part of the Centerton Day festivities. It was great to see everyone at the fire station and celebrate this city. https://t.co/3y6AHp9Yyb”
Womack has served as congressman for Arkansas’s 3rd District since replacing John Boozman in 2011 and has longstanding ties to the region; he was born in Russellville in 1957 and resides in Rogers. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Arkansas Tech University.
