Rep. Steve Womack, U.S. Congressman representing Arkansas’ 3rd district since 2011, posted a series of tweets on September 2, 2025, addressing topics ranging from historical remembrance to local achievements and law enforcement initiatives.

In his first tweet at 18:53 UTC, Womack referenced General Douglas MacArthur’s remarks marking the end of World War II: “In the words of General Douglas MacArthur on this day: ‘Today the guns are silent. A great tragedy has ended. A great victory has been won.'” The statement coincided with the anniversary of Japan’s formal surrender in 1945.

Later that evening at 20:01 UTC, Womack highlighted a local accomplishment by expressing support for a constituent participating in a national competition: “Greenwood native and Miss Arkansas Kennedy Holland is competing in the Miss America pageant this week! I wish her the very best and have no doubt she’ll continue to make the Third District proud.”

At 21:13 UTC, Womack commented on an immigration enforcement program he utilized during his tenure as mayor and its recent enhancements: “This is a program I leveraged back when I was mayor, and I can tell you firsthand, it’s a game changer for local and state law enforcement combating illegal immigration. Now, because of investments in the One Big Beautiful Bill, the program is even more effective!”

Womack has represented Arkansas’s 3rd District since succeeding John Boozman in Congress in 2011. Born in Russellville in 1957 and currently residing in Rogers, he graduated from Arkansas Tech University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1979.
