Rep. Steve Womack, who represents Arkansas’ 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, addressed several issues on his social media account on February 20, 2026.
In a post made at 15:33 UTC, Womack questioned Democratic opposition to a funding bill and the resulting partial government shutdown. He wrote, “Here’s why Democrats’ logic in forcing this partial government shutdown doesn’t hold up:
1.) The DHS funding bill they opposed was the result of bipartisan, bicameral negotiations and included resources for ICE body‑worn cameras and deescalation training.
2.) Democrats claim”.
Later that day, at 17:46 UTC, Womack promoted an event for local students interested in military service. He stated, “Are you a Third District high schooler interested in military service? Come to my 2026 Academy Day where students will have the opportunity to speak with representatives from the U.S. Military Service Academies, alumni, and current cadets to learn more about the application,”.
At 21:14 UTC on the same day, Womack discussed efforts to modernize national airspace technology through legislative action. He said, “When it comes to our national airspace, we can’t afford to rely on technology that was revolutionary 40 or more years ago. By codifying my FY26 THUD appropriations bill, we are bringing our national airspace into the 21st century. Read my op-ed in @dcexaminer:”.
Womack has served as the representative for Arkansas’s 3rd District since replacing John Boozman in 2011. Born in Russellville in 1957 and currently residing in Rogers, he graduated from Arkansas Tech University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1979.
