Rep. Steve Womack, who represents Arkansas’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, marked several topics of public interest in a series of posts on his social media account between August 26 and August 27, 2025.

On August 26, Womack commemorated the anniversary of the deaths of American service members during the withdrawal from Afghanistan. He stated, “Four years ago today, 13 U.S. service members paid the ultimate price during the botched Afghanistan withdrawal. We will never forget their names, their sacrifice, or their courage.”

Later that day, he reflected on the legacy of Lew Thompson, highlighting his business achievements and community contributions: “Lew Thompson’s life story is synonymous with the American Dream. He started as a one-man show hauling turkeys and grew his operation into a fleet of over 700 trucks. But Lew’s impact extends far beyond his business footprint. He gave tirelessly and generously to his community in”

On August 27, Womack addressed national policy by calling for legislative action related to flag desecration: “To further strengthen President Trump’s recent Executive Order, Congress must take action to amend the Constitution and explicitly prohibit the physical desecration of our flag, empowering prosecutors and law enforcement to uphold justice regardless of who is in the White House.”

Womack has served as a member of Congress since replacing John Boozman in 2011 and continues to represent Arkansas’s 3rd District (source: FACTS FOR STEP 4). Born in Russellville in 1957 and currently residing in Rogers at age 66, he graduated from Arkansas Tech University with a BA in 1979.
