Rep. Steve Womack, U.S. Congressman representing Arkansas’s 3rd district since 2011, addressed recent events and policy priorities in a series of posts on his official X account between September 9 and September 11, 2025.
On September 9, Womack marked the anniversary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development, writing: “Happy 60th to @HUDgov! @SecretaryTurner is right. Policy that empowers Americans is key to increasing homeownership—something I know well as @HouseAppropsGOP THUD Subcommittee Chair.”
A day later, on September 10, he responded to news involving Charlie Kirk with a statement condemning violence: “Political violence has no place in our country—ever. My prayers are with Charlie Kirk and his family.”
Womack reiterated this stance in a post early on September 11: “Charlie Kirk was only 31 years old, a husband and father of two young children. No matter the divisions in our nation, political violence is never the answer and cannot be accepted.”
Steve Womack has served as a member of Congress since succeeding John Boozman in Arkansas’s 3rd district in 2011. He currently chairs the House Appropriations Transportation-HUD (THUD) Subcommittee. Born in Russellville, Arkansas in 1957, Womack resides in Rogers and holds a BA from Arkansas Tech University.
