Rep. Bruce Westerman, U.S. Congressman representing Arkansas’s 4th district, posted a series of updates on his Twitter account between August 25 and August 26, 2025, addressing topics ranging from international relations to local emergencies and rural healthcare.

On August 25, Westerman highlighted the role of American energy in supporting global alliances, stating, “The United States and allies like South Korea, fueled by America’s energy resources, will be able to stand strong in their commitment to freedom and democracy worldwide, building a more prosperous future for everyone.” Read my latest article in @WashTimes Korea Special Section.

Later that day, he responded to an emergency at the University of Arkansas Fayetteville campus. He wrote on August 25: “Our office is closely monitoring the reports of the active shooter on campus at the University of Arkansas Fayetteville campus. If you are in the area, please follow all guidance from local officials. I’m grateful to the first responders who are already on the scene.”

On August 26, Westerman addressed rural healthcare initiatives through new legislation. He stated: “The One Big Beautiful Bill transforms access to rural hospitals. With $50 billion appropriated toward modernizing and expanding access to these facilities, rural communities across Arkansas will receive greater access to health care. Bruce Westerman has served as a member of Congress since 2015 after succeeding Tom Cotton. Before his tenure in Congress, he was part of the Arkansas House of Representatives from 2011 to 2015. Born in Hot Springs in 1967 and currently residing there at age 55, Westerman graduated from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1990.
