Rep. Bruce Westerman, who represents Arkansas’ 4th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of messages on his social media account reflecting on Labor Day, his connection with Senator Gary Stubblefield, and the anniversary of Japan’s surrender in World War II.
On September 1, 2025, Westerman marked the national holiday by posting: “Happy Labor Day! https://t.co/hC57vIEQot”.
The following day, he shared a personal reflection about his relationship with Senator Gary Stubblefield. On September 2, 2025, Westerman wrote: “Senator Gary Stubblefield and I began our service together in the Arkansas Legislature, and from the day I met him, I felt a kindred spirit. Not only did we share a similar college experience at the University of Arkansas, with both of us being former Razorback football players,”.
Later that same day, Westerman commemorated a significant historical event: “On September 2, 1945, Japan formally surrendered to the Allied forces, effectively putting an end to World War II. 80 years later, we still honor and commemorate the grit, courage, and sacrifice demonstrated in every military hero who selflessly served to defend our freedoms. https://t.co/LEYoa69eXF”.
