Later that day, he commented on a recent judicial confirmation: “I’m pleased to see the Senate confirm John Shepherd’s nomination for U.S. District Court Judge for the Western District of Arkansas. Currently serving in El Dorado as Arkansas’ 13th Judicial Circuit Judge, John knows what it takes to succeed in this new role. His integrity, deep”.

On April 15, 2026, Westerman addressed concerns related to rural education and local industry: “Many of my constituents in the Fourth District share my belief that our rural schools must be supported in a way that allows them to play a role as a community hub while also supporting our timber industry – the lifeblood for many of our communities across the Natural State. This”.

Westerman has served in Congress since replacing Tom Cotton in 2015 and previously held office in the Arkansas House of Representatives from 2011 to 2015. Born in Hot Springs, Arkansas in 1967 and currently residing there at age 55, Westerman is an alumnus of the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science degree earned in 1990.
