Rep. Bruce Westerman, who represents Arkansas’ 4th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently highlighted the economic and environmental significance of the Ouachita River and local restoration projects through a series of posts on social media.

On August 20, 2025, Westerman posted about the importance of the Ouachita River to Arkansas: “The Ouachita River is more than just a waterway running through the Natural State. Bruce Westerman has served as U.S. Representative for Arkansas’s 4th District since 2015 after succeeding Tom Cotton. He previously served in the Arkansas House of Representatives from 2011 to 2015.
