U.S. Congressman Bruce Westerman, who represents Arkansas’ 4th district and is a Hot Springs native, posted several statements on his social media accounts this week addressing both local and national matters.
On September 10, 2025, Westerman welcomed a local delegation to Washington, D.C., stating, “Great to welcome the Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce to our nation’s capital this week! I’m grateful for the work they do to grow opportunity and build community not only in Hot Springs but across the Natural State!”
Later that same day, Westerman addressed recent news about political violence in the country. He wrote on September 10, “It is devastating to learn of Charlie Kirk’s passing. My prayers are with his entire family. The United States of America is no place for political violence. We must recommit ourselves to civility, compassion, and decency which unite all of us as a nation.”
On September 11, marking the anniversary of the September 11 attacks, Westerman reflected on national tragedy and resilience: “On this day twenty-four years ago, our nation was shaken but not broken. We remember the innocent lives lost and the heroes who chose to run toward danger in order to save others. Their sacrifice, courage, and humility remind us of the very best of the American spirit. May that”
Bruce Westerman has served in Congress since 2015 after replacing Tom Cotton as representative for Arkansas’s 4th district. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he was a member of the Arkansas House of Representatives from 2011 to 2015. Westerman was born in Hot Springs in 1967 and continues to reside there; he graduated from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1990.
